Milled glass fiber & carbon fiber
Milled Fibres are engineered glass filaments that have been hammer milled
Milled Glass Fiber & Carbon Fiber are produced by hammering or grinding fiber in a special method into various specified bulk densities to form powders or floccular masses of short fibres with various chemical coatings. It performs the intermediate function between chopped strand and glass powder . In particular , it improves the physical properties such as thermal property and dimensional stability while main-taining the excellent surface finishes of the product.
Milled fibre are compatible with thermoplastic materials ( including Teflon* ) and thermoset materials such as polyester, phenolic, silicones, and epoxy. The product is also compatible with most asphalts, putties, patching cements and other coatings.
Milled fiber could be used widely as a reinforcement and filler medium for improv-
ing the molding properties of all sorts of plastic composites , adhesives and coatings to enhance their mechanical and physical properties, increase modulus, improve dimensional stability and minimize distortion under elevated temperatures.
It displays effectiveness particularly when used in R-RIM,FRTP and also in coatings and gel coats to prevent cracks.
